Governance

Oak Hill is owned and governed by the Kingham Hill Trust, with strategic and operational management delegated by the trustees to the Oak Hill College Council.

The Kingham Hill Trust was established by the Christian philanthropist, Charles Baring Young, to support the work of Oak Hill College, as well as the work of Kingham Hill School near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. Baring Young’s vision was to train men and women for a variety of ministries in the Church of England and other Protestant denominations at Oak Hill College; and to advance the physical, mental and spiritual education of children at Kingham Hill School.

The Trust is responsible for ensuring that Baring Young’s vision is upheld; that the College and School operate according to the ethos of the Trust; and that the Trust assets are responsibly managed.

The board of trustees meets three times a year, and is made up of members of the Oak Hill College Council, together with governors of Kingham Hill School.

Oak Hill College Council provides the college with a great depth of charitable trust and corporate governance experience. The council members between them have a broad range of expertise across financial, legal, management, corporate, government, property and ecclesiastical spheres. To be well-informed, the council also draws on the specialist knowledge of several trusted advisors with long-standing connections to the College.

The council meets three times a year.
